Ann Tardy, JD, CPA

As a former corporate attorney and a current entrepreneur, Ann knows business from every dynamic: financial, legal, customer, leadership, operations, and ethics. She served at two of the largest law firms in Silicon Valley, led over $2 billion of venture-backed financings for her entrepreneurial clients, and headed the legal department of two start-up companies, taking one to acquisition and the other public. Dissatisfied with not being in charge, Ann started her own law firm and successfully launched over 75 entrepreneurs.
To make a more strategic impact, Ann launched her own consulting firm to revolutionize succession planning, mentoring, and the evolution of employees from on-boarding to up-boarding to de-boarding. As a result of her passion and commitment for the potential of people, Ann has elevated the effectiveness and impact of mentoring in companies such as Pacific Gas & Electric, Hitachi Data Systems, and Southern California Edison.
Upon graduating with an accounting degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Ann passed the CPA exam. She then graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law and passed the Bar exams in Illinois and California.
She was honored as an Outstanding Business Woman of the Year by the American Business Women’s Association and honored with the Vanguard Award from The McGraw-Hill Companies for her contributions to their employees.
In 2012, Ann founded of The Mentoring Council (www.mentoringcouncil.com), connecting mentoring enthusiasts who share resources and best practices. In addition she served for five years as the volunteer Director of the Entrepreneurial Education program at a middle school, training 12-year-olds how to start and run businesses through a community-based mentoring program.
In summer 2011, Ann cycled 4,200 miles from San Francisco to New Jersey in The Moxie Ride, to film the documentary, Work Matters, capturing what people love about their jobs and how bosses influence their success. In 2012, she cycled The Moxie Ride 2, this time from Key West, Florida, to Bar Harbor, Maine, to collect research for her upcoming book, Joy is a Leader’s Job.

Rita Brooks, VP of Business Development
As the Vice President of Business Development at LifeMoxie Mentoring, Rita is responsible for creating long-term relationships with new and existing clients. Most recently, Rita served as Manager Employee Engagement at Bell Helicopter where she was responsible for employee programs, engagement initiatives, employee resource groups, new employee orientation and the mentoring program.
Previously, Rita was at Nestle Purina where she started as a Retail Sales Representative and was promoted to Account Executive in the Customer Development Group. She has also served as a Sales Manager at the Four Seasons Resort and Club, and as Sales Manager at Marriott's Harbor Beach Resort.
Rita earned a B.S. from Eastern Illinois University and a graduate certificate in Organization Development from University of Dallas.
Intrinsically enthusiastic, energetic, and hungry to learn, Rita’s inquisitive nature compelled her to change careers from sales to human resources in order to make sense of the workplace. It’s her exuberance for engaging others, dedication to facilitating change, and commitment to delivering results that underscores her success in every experience, challenge, and relationship. Not surprisingly, Rita is raising three kids and two dogs while tirelessly offering a fresh perspective and a dose of levity to the LifeMoxie team.

Joe Pirola, Chief Technical Officer
Joe has been mastering web development for 25 years. His team is responsible for the development, deployment, and administration of LifeMoxie's revolutionary desktop application mentoring program.
Joe specializes in the following software platforms: PHP, MySQL, Javascript & CSS for internet development and Visual Foxpro for desktop development.

Sue Malan, Director of Operations
Sue was born in Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa at the age of 7. After graduating in 1980 Sue had a long and stimulating career (all self-taught) in the computer industry, first as a support consultant and then as a trainer. She was head hunted and accepted a teaching position where she created a computer training program for children at an Elementary School. In October 2008, without a job or house (but with a lot of moxie), Sue and her husband Ray and their 3 children took a leap of faith and made the bold move to America to start a new life. She spent a year working for a pharmaceutical company and joined the dynamic team of LifeMoxie in December 2010.
Sue began her career at LifeMoxie as a Business Development Executive and within a year she was promoted to Director of Operations. Sue is instrumental in driving projects forward and elevating LifeMoxie to the next level. Her dedication to producing results enables LifeMoxie to offer a ridiculously high caliber of service while making LifeMoxie a great place to work!

Scott MacLeod, Programmer
Scott was born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan and owned and operated his own custom woodworking shop for many years until he moved his family to Florida in 1994. His motto (from his dad) is always "don't put off tomorrow what you can do today".
Scott has worked on a vast array of web projects for medium to large companies abroad.
His skills are constantly evolving and adapting to the newer technologies such as Jquery and Ajax making UI (User Interfaces) easier to navigate to accomplish specific tasks.
Scott has strong problem solving skills and works well in a team environment. Like a good wine he has aged well and when he is working it's all business with just a hint of humor to keep things even keel and on track. Scott enjoys working on web projects and taking them to the next level which gives him a great deal of personal satisfaction and allows him to work with a smile on his face.

Janice Liang, Client Engagement Specialist
Janice has worked with a diverse group of clients throughout her career. She began as a marketing associate with an education training firm based in Los Angeles. Later, she moved to the Chicago area working as a Systems Engineer and Account Manager for an information technology firm. While working on these assignments she gained valuable knowledge of many unique industries and organizations ranging from auto manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, to oil & gas. During this time Janice was able to live and learn about San Francisco and Chicago with her husband where they raised two children.
Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. Janice received an MBA from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University. Her children currently attend the University of Illinois as Big Ten enthusiasm runs in the family.
One of her greatest passions has been an active volunteer in the community. She was an initial member of a local organization with a mission to prevent homelessness and continues to volunteer as the organization reaches its 17th anniversary. She has also volunteered as a researcher at a children’s museum and as a tutor for a literacy program.

Angie Gardner, Client Engagement Support
Angie earned her Bachelor of Science in Textiles, Apparel and Merchandising from Northern Illinois University. She was the President of NIU’s Fashion Industries Organization.
Angie brings a wide variety of experience from her successful career in retail management, sales and leadership roles. She understands the importance of making sure that products, people and service work well together.
Angie has two wonderful kids who keep her busy as well as a very supportive husband who keeps her grounded.

Trish Fullerton, Chief Graphic Designer
Trish taught herself to draw at the age of 5 studying Dr Kildare eyes in the funny pages, so getting a degree in art from of the University of Texas at Austin was a natural. Trish has worked in Dallas as an advertising art director, and in the post-computer-revolution, she transformed into a freelance graphic designer, aspiring to create magic for her clients – giving them that special look and feel they want.
Trish loves to mingle her art with her favorite science as an avid winemaker and grapegrower, and tends her own mini-vineyard and winemaking facility (Esperanza) at her country home in Texas.
